A Clean Heart

Is anyone here playing Grow a Garden on Roblox? I LOVE IT. It's so much fun. How it works is that you have a garden that you grow from scratch. You can play with others or by yourself (or with those you choose).
You plant all kinds of produce like blueberries, strawberries, carrots, tomatoes, sugar apples and more. You can build your garden with tree houses, lights, and a ton more. There are all kinds of things that happen that can affect your crops- exciting things like black holes appearing, rain storms...it's a super fun game.
But the game can also sometimes feel a bit laborious. Last night I was getting tired of the constant harvesting that is required, but it was still fun.
This morning God had me remember the journey He took me through with my heart. It was work. He would bring attention to every single thought or intent. He would ask me to pray for people who had really done bad things in my life. That didn't always feel great. He was doing such a fine-tuning and asking me to be so aware.
It felt like tending a real garden. Constant weeding, tending, and watching
But I felt His love and knew the work He was doing was good. It just felt intense and I didn't understand why it was necessary.
Jesus had plans for my heart and today I understand why the work had to be done and continues to this day.
King David did a lot of crazy stuff, but lived a life of repentance and wanting to do the will of God. Jesus called him a "man after God's own heart."
Do you want your heart to be aligned with God? Even above your own affections? Even above the winds and waves and shiny things of life? Even above all of the philosphies and ideas trying to establish thrones in your heart? Even above impressing others?
Well then. Put your hands in the soil. Jesus is a great gardener to work with and for. He's way more fun than Grow a Garden. He wants to work in your heart. But you have to let Him.
