Bigger & Better, Together

ree

Hey friends,

Summer isn't over, but feeling its end coming closer is so bittersweet. The kids are ready to get back into a routine, and truth be told, so am I. So I'm elbow deep into wrapping up a couple of books, planning one kid's curriculum, and helping another with uniforms and thinking about what I'll put into lunchboxes.

Today, we're doing crafts and I have writing and editing to do.

I'm excited because I have a new mommy friend who loves Jesus AND tonight is date night. I'm grateful. It makes me think of the verse, "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." Psalm 27:13

Today feels like living in a cloud of Abba's goodness.

I know a big part of the reason I feel peaceful as I'm typing right now is because of God's love as it was shown to me through other people. Specifically, a mentor who really listened to me and gave me great advice this week.

Opening up doesn't come easy to me. I've regretted opening up to people in the past so I keep my cards close to my chest and tend to be pretty private, but God has shown me how important it is to let people in.

He'll bring you people. Wait for them. It might feel uncomfortable at first. "What if they judge me? What if they gossip about me? What if they condemn me?"

Most everyone has been through that. But when God brings you friends, it'll be special. You'll know. Wait.

This week's podcast episode is called Bigger & Better, Together and is about how God is preparing people who are going to be building with Him.

It's about how first Jesus will heal you, fix any broken, shoddy, or improper foundations of wounding, identity, and the like before He begins building with you. It's about how He has great plans for us AND how He doesn't plan for any of us to build in isolation,

The passage God gave me was from when Moses' father-in law gave him great counsel and encouraged him to delegate.

What God is building in you, you won't be able to do alone. This might sound scary to you if you have trust or control issues, but don't worry, He's going to heal and help you if you'll let Him.

How Staying Focused Keeps You Afloat

In the last post I wrote about how in the story of Nehemiah, two men called Sanballat and Tobiah were instantly disturbed by Nehemiah's plan to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

Then they laughed and accused Nehemiah of doing wrong. Nehemiah didn't fight them or go on a tirade defending himself. His answer to his newly formed panel of agitators was to state his unmoving faith in God. Even as they spread falsehoods against Nehemiah, he prevailed. How? He kept his eyes on the One who had given him his project. Focus will keep you on track and even in joy as you work. Keep reading.

Rejecting Every False Prophecy/Curse & Choosing God's Vision

When Sanballat and his buddies realized he could not attack Nehemiah's body, they tried to attack his mind with accusations. When they realized the attacks on the mind did not work, they tried to attack his spirit by having him come into physical agreement with false prophecy of imminent attack and death ("they will come and kill you").

What has been falsely prophesied over your work? That it's not a good time to start? That the economy isn't good enough? That no one will like your work? That it will fail? That you're not the one to do it? The enemy cannot physically make you stop but he will try to discourage and discredit you. Come out of agreement with any false prophetic word and come into agreement God's sight for your project. Keep reading.
