Choosing God's Truth

Dear friend,
Before I knew God, my truth was shaped by culture, headlines, and the passions and affections of my own heart. I felt right, so wasn't I?
Turns out, I wasn't. It only took a bit of research to see that many of my ideas were not only flimsy, but I was feeding right into the hand of agendas I couldn't have imaged.
When God first started to speak to me and give me dreams, what He said often didn't make sense. It would contradict what I saw with my eyes and felt in my heart.
One of the first times was during the pandemic. He gave me the most vivid dream and specific instructions that earned me a lot of harsh criticism from pepole I cared about, but in the end...He was right.
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord
-Isaiah 55:8
After the first few times of God proving Himself right, I began to realize that maybe I didn't know it all.
God's truth isn't subject to public opinion. It is independent and soverign. Every human being has to decide for themselves whether they will seek after it and make it their ultimate authority.
In a world where we're taught to "follow our hearts" and "do as we see best" choosing Divine wisdom is a revolutionary, set-apart act.
Whose truth will you choose? In this episode, I share with you how to choose God's every time.
Low-Sugar Easy Yellow Cake Recipe
Here's the simple Low-Sugar Yellow Cake recipe I promised. It's from the recipe website, Jenny Can Cook. It has only nine ingredients (I added salt) and takes 40 minutes start to finish making it a really simple dessert you can make on a weeknight.
The recipe calls for 3/4 cup of sugar but says you can also use 2/3 of a cup. I used 2/3 of a cup which makes it just sweet enough. I made it this afternoon so I'd have something on hand to give my kids as a treat and my husband could have a dessert to take to make a long work day more pleasant.
You could serve it alongside raspberries, Nutella, bananas...anything. It's really versatile. It rises enough for you to slice it into two layers for a birthday cake.

This recipe is a keeper. Check it out here.

Also, this is the first blog post where I'm also sharing my home life! I used to feel like I had to keep them separate and had two blogs, but funnily enough, I received a word about ending compartmentalization (lol) and knew it was for me.
I like to keep all the parts of my life in neat little boxes far apart from each other, but that's coming to an end. <3 Hope your family enjoys the cake and you enjoy the podcast episode.
love, Bunmi
