Don't Grow Cold

Over the past couple of weeks I've wanted to say many things, but God has had me watch. I'm very easily baited into arguments online. It just irks me to see a lie go unchallenged.
It's good to tell the truth and stand up for people who can't defend themselves, but I'm working at not attending every debate I'm invited to (or crash the ones I wasn't invited to).
Over the past couple of weeks God has been having me watch more than talk (although I still feel like I talked quite a bit, but less for me). He had me watch both what's happening in the world and the church & watch what's going on in my heart in response to it.
The challenge right now is to do right, speak the truth where lies are the norm while also keeping one's heart from growing hard or cold. Can we, in a world full of all kinds of strange and wrong things, keep a tender heart that God can use to reach His lost lambs?
When the enemy knows he can't deceive you into believing lies, he'll try to drain the love of others from your heart due to anger and frustration over the chaos he causes.
This happens to people in ministry sometimes. People can get angry, competitive, frustrated, disgusted, etc. over things they've seen and experienced. Don't let it get into your heart because it'll do two things: change your relationship with God and impede your ability to minister with the heart of Jesus.
Stay close to Jesus. Give those complicated situations and feelings to Him. Remain in Him in your heart where no one else can see. Doing great things for Him is wonderful, but He wants your heart very much.
"I've prophesided in your name, cast our demons in your name......" "I never knew you."
The world is after your heart, too. The Bible says that in end times love will grow cold.
"Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold." Matthew 24:12
God wants us, as we debate issues, tell the truth, and minister to others to not grow cold, not grow hard-hearted, and to align our hearts with His.
Behind every issue in the world are people. God loves people. We can't forget that. People are hurting. They need Jesus. The lost are looking to us to see what Jesus looks like.
How's your heart doing? Are you sharing the gospel with your mouth, but harboring pride, hatred, disgust, or anger in your heart? He's constantly having me examine my heart.
Because everything we do flows from it. We don't want to undo work God is doing because of the hidden things inside of us.
He hasn't stopped loving your neighbor even when we have.
And also, He loves it when my heart resembles His. Only then can I hear Him clearly. Only then can I abide in Him without conflict. We can be close when I've submit my heart to His every day and let it be filled with His love to overflowing on those around me.
I recorded about why God wants our hearts to stay in His: warm and full of love as we prepare for the soon coming of Christ. I also share how you can stay a man or woman after God's own heart during these times.
He showed me a couple of great examples and told me some beautiful things about hearts that stay warm in crazy times.
