Green Pastures, Not Just Green Rooms

Hi friend!

I love Psalm 23. It's a beautiful Psalm about God tenderly caring for His sheep. This morning God led me to Ezekiel 34 which is about sheep but very...different. It's about God handling inter-sheep relationships (and a really beautiful prophecy of the Messiah, the Good Shepherd, Jesus).

As people are returning to the church in droves and herds in this time, God is caring for His sheep and bringing correction where it is needed.

Ezekiel 34 talks about God judging between sheep who gorge on the grass and water, and then leave it tramped and muddy for the others. He talks about sheep "butting" others. Using power improperly. Basically bullying and being selfish.

The house of God belongs to Jesus. It’s not meant to be a preferential, careless stomping ground for a select few, the biggest, or those full of pride.

God is correcting the places where the holy concept of honor has twisted into narcissistic systems, meals of love left unserved, and starving or bleeding sheep have limped away only to be attacked by predators. He is cleaning house and bringing correction because people are coming back and new ones are arriving.

Jesus wants the pastures of His house to be green and the water to be clear for all, not just a special select group. Cliques (tight groups of friends) and green rooms aren’t inherently bad. Jesus had a small circle of disciples, but not to keep people out and create an echo chamber, but so that He could train them to bring in the multitudes that He loves. Jesus even had a circle within the circle for certain activities. It's okay to have best friends.

Green rooms aren't inherently bad. The people who give the most need places to refresh and recharge. Jesus went away to pray and be alone. You can't be on all the time. But He loved all of His sheep. And made sure everybody ate.

If you are worried about going to church because you've seen or experienced some things that are unholy, don’t be. He’s working. Your heart is safe with Jesus and He'll bring you to the grassiest, wateriest, of Holy Spirit-led, Bible believing places where you can love, be loved, learn, experience God, and contribute.

Jesus is purifying His church and with good reason. He’s coming for her. I also share my thoughts on current events, what love to God is and what it isn't, and how you can hear His voice clearly.

Trust Him! It's safe.

love, Bunmi

How Staying Focused Keeps You Afloat

Untitled design.jpg

In the last post I wrote about how in the story of Nehemiah, two men called Sanballat and Tobiah were instantly disturbed by Nehemiah's plan to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

Then they laughed and accused Nehemiah of doing wrong. Nehemiah didn't fight them or go on a tirade defending himself. His answer to his newly formed panel of agitators was to state his unmoving faith in God. Even as they spread falsehoods against Nehemiah, he prevailed. How? He kept his eyes on the One who had given him his project. Focus will keep you on track and even in joy as you work. Keep reading.

Rejecting Every False Prophecy/Curse & Choosing God's Vision

When Sanballat and his buddies realized he could not attack Nehemiah's body, they tried to attack his mind with accusations. When they realized the attacks on the mind did not work, they tried to attack his spirit by having him come into physical agreement with false prophecy of imminent attack and death ("they will come and kill you").

What has been falsely prophesied over your work? That it's not a good time to start? That the economy isn't good enough? That no one will like your work? That it will fail? That you're not the one to do it? The enemy cannot physically make you stop but he will try to discourage and discredit you. Come out of agreement with any false prophetic word and come into agreement God's sight for your project. Keep reading.
