Reinforcements

Dear friend,
Let me tell you a story. When I was in high school, I played varsity soccer. I wasn't at high school varsity level. The girls on my team had been playing club soccer since kindergarten. I played Nigerian yard-style soccer my whole life.
I was ok enough to make the team, but it was fast paced for me. I was intimidated.
So even though I play forward, I'm a striker, I chose to play defense. Defense felt like less pressure. Less spotlight. Less judgement. Less opportunity to mess up.
Defense, as a focus and a strategy, can feel like you're doing something, but it is a work of iniquity when God has called you to play offense.
The enemy wants you to play defense in times when you're called to take ground. Contend for land. Fight for what God has already called yours.
The enemy wants you focused on what the opposition is doing at a time when you're called to be on the front lines taking close orders from God.
There are people playing defense in these situations, resting on their swords, pretending to be in battle, making a lot of noise but in safe directions, out of fear and insecurity.
The way it was shown to me was like the atmosphere in 1 Samuel 17. The Israelite army and King Saul were shaking over Goliath when little sheep-poop scented David strolled onto the scene.
God is goign to bring Davids into these Valleys of Elah. When He does, the temptation will be to accuse them of pride or being out of order like David's oldest brother did.
The message God gave me is called Reinforcements.
You prayed for help. It's coming. Don't be alarmed when it doesn't look (or smell) like what you think it should.
love, Bunmi
