Your Last Mandate

Hey friend!

I hope you're doing well. I FINALLY recorded last night. It's a message that has been percolating for a long time. It's called Your Last Mandate and is about the last thing God told you to do.

You see, about six month ago, God gave me really specific instructions that I didn't understand. I understood what to do but not how to do it right. It felt weird. Confusing. And a little wrong, to be honest.

I know God is not a God of confusion so I prayed. "God is this from you? Am I being tricked?" The instructions were to help people trapped in a specific dangerous lifestyle, but the way I thought He wanted me to go about it felt risky in a way that didn't seem like Him.

I spent around a week praying about it, received no additional clarity, and so...I dropped it.

I just kinda put it on the way back burner and kept working on other things: life, things He's given me to do, etc.

I'm not sure why I thought God would just let it go. Maybe He'd forget?

"Oh she didn't understand, that's ok. NEXT."

Well, I'm here to tell you it doesn't work like that.

God loves us and wants us to press in on the seemingly impossible things He wants to do in this world through us.

In this episode, I share what I learned about following vs. ignoring God's instructions and what to do when you just don't know what to do.

I hope it helps you get started or get help from Jesus on how to get started.

I've begin doing what He told me to and am already amazed. It wasn't as hard a I thought. You can do the thing He told you to, too!

lots of love, Bunmi

PS. Recipe. I don't have a recipe for the exact banana bread in this blog post. I kind of played it by ear while thinking of a banana muffin recipe I've been using for over ten years. That recipe is here. It's used to be one of the most popular recipes on Allrecipes.

I love baking with bananas.

Buckwheat flour makes the scariest batter!
Buckwheat flour makes the scariest batter!

Add some nutmeg, ginger powder, and cinnamon. You can half the sugar and use brown sugar in its place if you'd like. I used buckwheat and rice flour.

Play around with it. What happens in your kitchen, stays in your kitchen. This one was a hit with hubby and the kids. At the time of typing, it's already gone! I hope I can recreate it.

Listen to Your Last Mandate and get cooking with God on the project He has just for you. <3

How Staying Focused Keeps You Afloat

Untitled design.jpg

In the last post I wrote about how in the story of Nehemiah, two men called Sanballat and Tobiah were instantly disturbed by Nehemiah's plan to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

Then they laughed and accused Nehemiah of doing wrong. Nehemiah didn't fight them or go on a tirade defending himself. His answer to his newly formed panel of agitators was to state his unmoving faith in God. Even as they spread falsehoods against Nehemiah, he prevailed. How? He kept his eyes on the One who had given him his project. Focus will keep you on track and even in joy as you work. Keep reading.

Rejecting Every False Prophecy/Curse & Choosing God's Vision

Untitled design-2.jpg

When Sanballat and his buddies realized he could not attack Nehemiah's body, they tried to attack his mind with accusations. When they realized the attacks on the mind did not work, they tried to attack his spirit by having him come into physical agreement with false prophecy of imminent attack and death ("they will come and kill you").

What has been falsely prophesied over your work? That it's not a good time to start? That the economy isn't good enough? That no one will like your work? That it will fail? That you're not the one to do it? The enemy cannot physically make you stop but he will try to discourage and discredit you. Come out of agreement with any false prophetic word and come into agreement God's sight for your project. Keep reading.
